2 8 oz. pkg cream cheese -- softened
 1 can pumpkin pie mix (not solid-pack pumpkin)
 2 cups powdered sugar
 1/2  teaspoon cinnamon
 1/2  teaspoon ground ginger
 8 oz Cool Whip
 Beat softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth; gradually add pumpkin
 pie mix and beat well.  Beat in the sugar, spices, and orange rind.
 
 Fold in the Cool whip. Chill.  Serve as a dip or spread, with your favorite spice
cookies, oatmeal cookies, molasses cookies or gingersnaps. 
 
 Yield 5 cups dip.
