       Title: HAL R.'S TOFFEE

       3 c  Sugar
   1 1/2 lb Butter
       9 tb Water
      18    Plain Hershey Choc. bars*
       3 c  Pecans; chopped
       3 ts Vanilla
  
    *Triple quantities for one cooky (utility pan) sheet.
    I.E. 3 c sugar.
      Cook sugar, butter, water, stirring constantly. Once it begins boiling
   it will take about 25 mins to reach 320 degrees. Remove immediately and add
   vanilla.
       Pour over pan covered with plain Hershey bars broken up. Add chopped
   pecans right away onto sticky stuff. Cool and break up into pieces. **This
   was a later Christmas tradition. Hal was a co-worker of my father’s and he
   would bring over a plate of cookies and some of this GREAT toffee and have
   a pre-Christmas drink with us right around the 24th.
