                            Fresh Spinach Salad

    1      lb            fresh spinach
      1/2  lb            fresh mushrooms
    6      to 8          green onions -- chopped
    8      slices        bacon -- cooked and crumbled
    1      c             salad oil
      2/3  c             sugar
      1/2  tsp           dry mustard
      1/2  tsp           onion juice
      1/2  tsp           salt
      1/3  c             cider vinegar
                         salt and pepper -- to taste
 
 Remove stems from spinach; wash leaves thoroughly, and pat dry.  Tear into bite
 -size pieces.  Quickly rinse mushrooms in cold water; drain well, and slice thi
 n.  Combine spinach, mushrooms, onion, and bacon in a large bowl; set aside.
 Combine salad oil, sugar, mustard, onion juice, and salt to container of electr
 ic blender; blend well.  Remove lid of container; slowly add vinegar while blen
 der is running.
 Toss spinach mixture with dressing until well coated.  Season with salt and pep
 per.
