NOTES : Moroccans serve small vegetable dishes at the beginning of a meal to
stimulate the appetite. This use of star anise was unusual; we enjoyed it.
Turn the salad into a meal: add nuts and serve with a crusty bread. Serves
  4. Time: 315 minutes plus time to cool. *Recipe from “The Road to Morocco,”
