                         turnips
                         cream -- or butter
                         salt
                         paprika
 
 Pare the turnips and cut in thin slices.  Cook in salted water in an uncovered 
 kettle for about 20 minutes, or until tender.  Drain, press through a colander,
  season with cream or butter, and more salt if needed.  Serve at once with a sp
 rinkling of paprika over the top.
