                             Sweet/Sour Cabbage

    5      Strips        Bacon -- Diced
    1      Medium        Cabbage -- Chopped
    1      Medium        Onion -- Chopped
      1/2  Cup           Water
      1/3  Cup           Vinegar
    2      Tablespoons   All-Purpose Flour
    2      Tablespoons   Brown Sugar
    1      Teaspoon      Salt
      1/8  Teaspoon      Pepper
                         Garlic Powder -- To Taste
    1      Teaspoon      Browning Sauce (Like Gravy Master) -- For Color
 
 Coarsely chop cabbage. Add water to a Dutch oven, add cabbage and boil until
 cabbage is tender (about 10-15 minutes); drain and set aside.
 
 In a large skillet cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon; set aside. Saute
 onion in drippings until tender. Add flour and mix well. Add water, vinegar,
 brown sugar, salt, pepper and browning sauce. Cook and stir until thickened.
 Add cabbage and bacon; serve warm.

 NOTES : I like to let this stand a few hours before serving to blend flavors.
 Reheat and serve warm.
