                             Caramelized Onions

    2      large         onions -- sliced thinly
    2      tablespoons   butter or margarine
    1      teaspoon      brown sugar
                         Salt to taste
 
 Directions: In medium skillet melt butter; add onions to hot skillet and cook,
 stirring, over medium low heat for about 15 minutes or until onions become
 tender.  Add brown sugar and continue to cook, stirring, for an additional 5
 minutes or until onions are golden.  Season with salt.  Serve over burgers or
 steaks or as a side dish.  Yield: 4 servings.
