                               Sherry Onions

   Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

      1/4  cup           butter or margarine
    5      medium        onions, -- sliced thin
      1/2  teaspoon      sugar
      1/2  teaspoon      salt
      1/2  teaspoon      freshly ground black pepper
      1/2  cup           sherry
      1/4  cup           grated Parmesan cheese
           dash          ground nutmeg
 
 Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.  Add onions, sugar, salt and pepper. 
Cook until onions are soft, about 5 to 8 minutes.  Add sherry.	Increase heat and
cook quickly about 2 to 3 minutes.  Sprinkle with cheese and nutmeg.  Serve at
once with grilled steak.
