                        Norwegian Meatballs in Sauce

    1 1/2  pounds        extra lean ground beef
      1/2  pound         extra lean ground pork
    1                    egg
    1      cup           mashed potatoes
      1/2  cup           dry bread crumbs
      1/2  cup           milk
    1      teaspoon      seasoned salt
      1/4  teaspoon      ground cloves
      1/4  teaspoon      allspice
      1/4  teaspoon      ground ginger
      1/4  teaspoon      black pepper
      1/4  teaspoon      nutmeg
      1/4  teaspoon      brown sugar
      1/2  cup           flour
    1      cup           beef broth -- * see note
      1/2  cup           heavy cream
      1/2  cup           chopped parsley
 
 serves 6 to 8
 
 Thoroughly combine all ingredients except flour, beef broth, heavy cream and ch
 opped parsley.  Blend well and shape into about twenty-four 1 1/2 inch meatball
 s.  roll lightly in flour.  Place on rack of broiler pan in preheated 400 degre
 e F. oven for 20 minutes.  Drain and place in Crock-Pot.  Pour beef broth over 
 metballs.  Cover and cook on Low for 7 to 9 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours.
 
 Before serving, carefully remove meatballs to warm platter.  Stir heavy cream i
 nto broth in Crock-Pot; mix until smooth.  Pour sauce over meatballs, then spri
 nkle with the chopped parsley.
