                            Italian Beef Au Jus

    6      pounds        Rump Roast -- Trimmed
    2      packages      Au Jus Gravy Packet
    2      packages      Dry Italian Dressing Mix
    2      cans          beef broth
 
 Place meat in a crockpot.  Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over
 beef.  Cook on low for 8 hours.

 NOTES : Made 6-17-98. I had a 3 1/2 pound roast so used 1 can of condensed
 beef broth diluted with 3/4 can of water and 1 each of the other packets.
 After about 8 hours, I took the meat out, trimmed it, sliced it as thin as
 I could and returned the meat to the broth. To the broth I added a little
 more beef base, some onion powder, garlic powder and Kitchen Bouquet for
 color. Maybe that was a little too much because the broth at the bottom of
 the pot was pretty salty. Definitely a keeper recipe!
