* Exported from MasterCook * Italian Beef Au Jus Recipe By : Ginger Kofron Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sandwiches Beef Italian Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 pounds Rump Roast -- Trimmed 2 packages Au Jus Gravy Packet 2 packages Dry Italian Dressing Mix 2 cans beef broth Place meat in a crockpot. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over beef. Cook on low for 8 hours. I had a 3 1/2 pound roast so used 1 can of condensed beef broth diluted with 3/4 can of water and 1 each of the other packets. After about 8 hours, I took the meat out, trimmed it, sliced it as thin as I could and returned the meat to the broth. To the broth I added a little more beef base, some onion powder, garlic powder and Kitchen Bouquet for color.
