My Swiss Steak

3 pounds round steak
2 tablespoons flour
2 large onions -- sliced
2 cloves garlic -- minced
2 cups ketchup
2 tablespoons oil
salt and pepper
Dredge steak in flour, season with salt and pepper if desired. Heat oil in
large skillet. Brown onions, garlic and meat, Pour Ketchup over meat. Cover
pan and cook until tender on medium heat. Should take at least an hour. Meat
should be very tender. Check to make sure that it doesn't burn. If it looks
like it is going to add water or broth if you have it available.

Serving Ideas : serve with mashed potato or boiled potato or spaetzle.
NOTES : Does not taste like ketchup. Always surprises people when I tell them
how it is made. Discovered this as a college student. Great if you are stuck
in a snow storm.
