                             Canned Green Beans

    2      gallons       fresh green beans
    1      gallon        water
    1      cup           salt
    1      cup           sugar
    1      cup           vinegar
 
 Mix water, salt, sugar, vinegar and green beans, which have been snapped to 1 i
 nch pieces.  Place in sterilized jars after boiling the beans for 7 minutes.  S
 eal.  To Serve:  Drain beans and rinse with cold water, cover beans with cold w
 ater and heat to boiling.  Drain again, now add water and cook as for fresh bea
 ns, season but do not add more salt.
