                              Tex-Mex Taco Dip

    8      Oz            Pkg. Cream Cheese
    1      C             Cottage Cheese
    1      Env           Taco Seasoning Mix
      3/4  C             Medium Or Hot Salsa
      1/2  Sm            Head Iceberg Lettuce -- Shredded
    1      Whole         Tomato -- Seeded And Chopped
    1      Whole         Sweet Green Pepper -- Chopped
    1      Sm            Onion -- Chopped
      1/2  Whole         Ripe Avocado -- Chopped
    2      C             Cheddar Cheese -- Grated
                         Taco Chips For Dipping
 
 Combine cream cheese, cottage cheese and taco seasoning in a food processor or
 blender for 30 seconds or until smooth.
 Refrigerate mixture for several hours before serving.
 (this can be done a day ahead.)
 To serve, mound cheese-taco mixture on a large platter. 
 Cover with salsa. 
 Mix prepared vegetables together, including avocado (if using).
 Cover salsa with about 3/4 of the vegetables.
 Reserve remainder to be added when the hors d'oeuvre begins to look messy. 
 Sprinkle cheese on top surrounded with taco chips.
 Serves a crowd.
