                                SUGARED NUTS

    2      cups          light brown sugar
    1      cup           granulated sugar
    1      cup           sour cream
    2      teaspoons     vanilla
    1      cup           pecans
    2      cups          walnuts
    1      cup           unblanched almonds
 
 
 
 
 combine sugars and sour cream in a large sauce pan.  Cook over medium heat,
 stirring until sugarsmelt.
 Continue cooking without stirring (it will turn sugar if stirred)  Let it
 reach 238 degrees on candy thermometer (or until a little dropped into cold
 water until makes small ball) Remove from heat.  
 Stir softly until all meats are covered.  Spread on wax paper until dry.  With
 a fork seperate meats.  Makes about 3 pounds.

 NOTES : This is a family favorite.  Here is a tip-do this on a clear day.
 (not rainy or muggy day) 
 I place in a small jar and finish with ribbon.  Makes good gifts.
