    1      Fifth         Brandy
    1      Cup           sugar syrup
 
 *Lovage cordials were very popular in England  prior to WWI but have
 since disappeared.
 
 Steep the lovage and brandy for one week. Strain through cheesecloth and
 add the sugar syrup.
