                    Bread Pudding With Lemon Hard Sauce

    2      cups          milk
      1/2  cup           sugar
      1/2  cup           raisins
    2                    eggs -- beaten
      1/4  cup           butter or margarine
      1/4  teaspoon      salt
    4      cups          bread crumbs
      1/2  teaspoon      nutmeg
 
 Combine the butter or margarine, sugar, salt, and raisins with the milk. Heat t
 o a boil. Pour over bread crumbs.  Allow to set for 5 minutes.  Add the eggs, n
 utmeg and mix well.  Place into a buttered casserole.  Bake at 350 for 50-55 mi
 nutes. Serve with a Lemon Sauce or a Hard Sauce. Hard Sauce:  Cream 1/2 cup but
 ter or margarine with 1 1/2 cups sugar. Add 1 tsp. vanilla extract and beat unt
 il fluffy.
