                               Marinara Sauce

    2      28 oz cans    whole tomatoes
    1                    onion -- finely chopped
    2                    carrots -- peeled and diced
    1      clove         garlic -- chopped
    2      tablespoons   vegetable oil
    1 1/2  teaspoons     sugar
    1 1/2  teaspoons     salt
 
 Place tomatoes in batches in blender container; blend until smooth (or puree to
 matoes through a food mill).
 
 In skillet, saute onion, carrotws, and garlic in oil just until tender (do not 
 brown).  Combine all ingredients in Crock-Pot; stir well.  Cover and cook on Lo
 w for 6 to 10 hours.  Remove cover, stir well and cook on High for the last hou
 r for a ticker marinara sauce.
 
 About 6 cups.
