      1/2  cup           onion -- minced
    6      ounces        tomato paste
   12      ounces        beer
   16      ounces        kidney beans -- undrained
    1      teaspoon      sugar
    1      teaspoon      garlic powder
    1      teaspoon      salt
      1/2  teaspoon      oregano
    1      teaspoon      black pepper
 
 COMBINE BEEF AND ONIONS IN A SAUCEPAN, OVER A MODERATE FLAME HEAT AND STIR FOR 
 5-10 MINUTES, UNTIL BEEF HAS BROWNED AND ONIONS HAVE SOFTENED
 ADD TOMATO PASTE AND BEER-MIX WELL 
 ADD BEANS IN THEIR JUICE, CHILI POWDER, SUGAR, AND GARLIC POWDER-MIX WELL 
 SEASON TO TASTE WITH SALT AND BLACK PEPPER 
 BRING TO A BOIL, REDUCE HEAT, AND SIMMER FOR 15-20 MINUTES, ADDING WATER AS NEE
 DED TO ADJUST CONSISTENCY 
 SERVE HOT
