                             Sourdough Starter

    2 1/4  teaspoons     yeast
   16      ounces        warm water
    2      cups          all-purpose flour
 
 DO NOT USE ANY METAL UTENSILS WITH THIS STARTER!!
 
 In a 2 quart glass bowl, mix yeast and warm water; let stand for 10
 10 minutes.
 
 Add flour, mixing until thick batter forms.  It won't be smooth.
 
 Cover with plastic wrap and let stand in warm place for 2 - 3 days.
 
 Stir daily until a sour smell forms.
