       Yield: 1 Servings
       2 c  Raisins
       4 ts Baking soda
            Add 2 c. boiling water
            Let stand overnight.
            In morning add:
     1/4 c  Oil
       2    Beaten eggs
     1/2 ts Salt
   1 1/2 c  Sugar
       4 c  Flour
       1 ts Vanilla
            Fruit-see directions
   Mix well and bake in 2 loaf pans or 3 - 1 lbs. coffee tins, greased and
   floured. Bake at 350 for 1 hr.
       For fruit cake I add: 2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, 2 c. chopped
   dates, 2 cups chopped pecans. This addition to the Hobo Bread will make 4 -
   1 lb. coffee tins.
     Peggy  Butherus--My version of fruitcake. I received the recipe from a
   lady over 25 years ago for Hobo Bread and added my favorie fruit, nuts, etc
   for a fruit cake. Anyone that has told me they hate fruitcake, wants this
   recipe. It’s very moist. Enjoy.
