                              Red Velvit Cake

   Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

      1/2  Cup           Shortening
    1 1/2  Cups          Sugar
      1/2  Cup           Egg Beaters¨ 99% egg substitute
    2      Tablespoons   Cocoa
    2      Ounces        Red Food Coloring  -- one full bottle
    2 1/2  Cups          Flour
    1      tsp           Salt
    1      Cup           Buttermilk
    1      Tablespoon    Vinegar
    1      tsp           Baking Soda
    1      tsp           Vanilla
 
       Mix together shortening, eggs, & sugar.  Make a paste of the cocoa and part
   of food coloring.  Add this and rest of coloring to creamed mixture.
 
       Sift flour and salt alternately into batter with buttermilk.  Add vinegar. 
   Stir in soda and vanilla.
 
    Mix and bake at 350¡ for 30 minutes, or until done by touch.
