                            Bob Hope’s Lemon Pie

    1      cup           sugar
    2      tablespoons   sugar
    3      tablespoons   cornstarch
    1      cup           boiling water
    2      tablespoons   butter
    1      pinch         salt
    4      tablespoons   lemon juice
    4                    egg yolks
                         grated rind of 1 lemon
    3                    egg whites
                         baked pie shell
    2      tablespoons   sugar
 
 Combine cornstarch and sugar, add water slowly, stirring constantly,
 until thick and smooth. Add slightly beaten egg yolks, butter, lemon rind
 and juice and salt. Cook 2-3 minutes. Pour into baked shell. Cover with
 meringue made from 3 egg whites, beaten stiff and 2 tbsp sugar. Bake in
