                             Chocolate Chip Pie

   Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    2      cups          all-purpose flour
    1      tablespoon    baking powder
      1/4  teaspoon      salt
    1 1/2  cups          light brown sugar -- firmly packed
      1/2  cup           butter -- melted
    2      large         eggs -- beaten
    1      tablespoon    vanilla extract
   12      ounces        semisweet chocolate chips
      1/2  cup           walnuts or pecans -- chopped
 
 Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and light brown sugar in a medium bowl.  Add
butter, eggs, and vanilla; stir well.  Stir in chocolate  morsels and nuts. 
Spoon into a greased 9 inch  pieplate.	Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or
until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool on a wire rack.
 yields one 9 -inch pie
 Wonderful with vanilla or butter pecan ice cream.
