                           FISH MARKET APPLE PIE

      1/4  cup           Sugar
    1      teaspoon      Cinnamon
   10 2/3  tablespoons   Butter -- unsalted
      2/3  teaspoon      Salt
                         Water
                         -----FILLING-----
    6      lg            McIntosh apples
    1 2/3  cups          Sour cream
                         Egg
    1      cup           Sugar
      1/2  teaspoon      Salt
    2      teaspoons     Vanilla
      1/3  cup           Flour
                         -----TOPPING-----
      1/3  cup           Brown sugar
      1/3  cup           Sugar
      1/2  cup           Flour
    1      pinch         Salt
    1      tablespoon    Cinnamon
    1      cup           Walnuts -- chopped
      1/4  pound         Butter
           om            ine crust ingredients -- roll o
           ac            in
 
 a 10 pie pan. Mix filling ingredients together and fill pie shell. Bake at 450
for 10 minutes.  REDUCE OVEN to 350 and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Blend topping
ingredients and place atop pie.  Bake for additional 15 minutes at 350. Serve
warm.A lot of work, but well worth the effort.
