       Title: Can-Your-Own Apple Pie Filling

   4 1/2 c  Sugar
       1 c  Cornstarch
       2 ts Ground cinnamon
     1/4 ts Gound nutmeg
       3 tb Lemon juice
       2    To 3 drops yellow food color
       6 lb Tart apples
            Peel/core/slice
  
       Here is a great recipe for you home canners out there.It’s apple pie
   filling for a two crust pie.   In sauce pan blend first 4 ingredients and 1
   tsp salt. Stir 10 cups water cook and stir till thick and bubbly. add lemon
   juice and food coloring. Pack into hot sterilized quart jars leaving 1
   headspace.   Fill jars with syrup leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Use spatula
   to help distribute syrup. Adjust lids. Process in water bath for 20 min.
