Sour Cream Pie
 
 1 cup sugar
 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
 1/4 teaspoon salt
 1/4 teaspoon cloves
 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
 4 eggs, separated
 1 1/2 cups sour cream
 1/2 cup raisins
 3/4 cup nuts (walnuts are good)
 
 Combine 2/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, salt and spices in a saucepan. Reserve 
 remaing 1/3 cup of sugar for topping.
 
 Beat egg yolds, stir into sour cream.  Add to sugar mixture.  Cook and 
 stir over low heat until thick.  Watch carefully as this can burn easily.
 
 Add nuts and raisins and then allow to cool.
 
 Pour into baked pie crust shell.  Top with meringue made with 1/3 cup 
 sugar and the left over 4 egg whites.
 
 Bake until brown and then chill.
