                         Lemon Herb Broiled Chicken

      1/4  cup           butter -- melted
      1/4  cup           lemon juice
    1      teaspoon      dried marjoram
      1/2  teaspoon      salt
    1      4 pound       frying chicken -- cut in 8 pieces
 
 1.  Heat broiler.  In 1 quart saucepan stir together all ingredients except
 chicken.
 
 2.  Place chicken on greased broiler pan; brush chicken with butter mixture.
  Broil 6-8 inches from heat, turning and basting with sauce every 10 minutes,
 until chicken is fork tender (30-35 minutes),
 
 3.  Meanwhile, cook remaining sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally,
 until mixture comes to a full boil (2 to 3 minutes).  Just before serving,
 spoon sauce over chicken.
