                               Meat Loaf Ring

    8      slices        bacon
    2      cups          raw carrot
    2      cups          raw potato
    1 1/2  cups          onion -- minced
    1      pound         mushroom -- sliced
    4      pounds        ground chuck
    4                    eggs
    1      tablespoon    salt
      1/8  teaspoon      pepper
    2      teaspoons     marjoram
    2      teaspoons     basil
    2      teaspoons     thyme
    1      cup           catsup
    4      teaspoons     lemon juice
    2      teaspoons     Worcestershire sauce
      2/3  cup           milk
    1      teaspoon      ground cloves
                         mashed potatoes OR
                         green vegetable
 
 Grease well two 2-quart ring molds. Line with bacon. Grind carrot and potato. S
 aute onions mushrooms and ground chuck. Combine with eggs, salt, pepper, marjor
 am, basil, thyme, catsup, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, milk,  and ground 
 cloves. Mix well, but lightly. Fill ring molds and freeze. 
 
 To serve:
 Defrost, cover with aluminum foil and bake 2 hours at 350 with ring set in pan 
 of water. Unmold and serve with center filled with mashed potatoes or green veg
 etable.
