     1/2 c  Brown sugar; packed
     1/2 c  Dark corn syrup
     1/4 c  Margarine or butter
     1/2 ts Salt
       6 c  Toasted oat cereal
       1 c  Pecan halves -OR- walnut
            - halves -OR- peanuts
     1/2 c  Slivered almonds
  
   Heat oven to 325~. Grease jelly roll pan, 15x10". Heat brown sugar, corn
   syrup, margarine and salt in 3 qt saucepan over medium heat, stirring
   constantly, until sugar melts, about 5 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in
   cereal and nuts until well coated. Spread mix in pan. Bake 15 minutes. Cool
   10 minutes; loosen mix with a metal spatula. Let stand until firm, about 1
   hour. Store in covered container. Makes 8 cups.
