                                 The Tonic

    6                    eggs
    4                    lemons -- juice of
    1      pint          cream
    1      pound         demerara sugar
    1      gill          brandy or rum
 
 Break eggs, including shells, and soak in sugar and juice of lemons for
 three days, stirring frequently. Mixture having been strained well mix in
 brandy, or rum if preferred, with cream and add to egg mixture. Beat well
 and bottle. Take wine glassful twice a day.
