 Persimmon Cookies 2

1 C sugar
1/2 C shortening
1 C persimmon pulp
1 t baking soda
1 egg, beaten
2 C flour
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t cloves
1/2 t salt
1 C chopped nuts
1 C raisins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Cream the sugar and shortening. Add the 
persimmon pulp and baking soda, mix well. Blend in the remaining 
ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. 
Bake for 12-15 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
