* Exported from MasterCook * Sweet/Sour Cabbage Recipe By : My Recipe-aquasea221 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 5 Strips Bacon -- Diced 1 Medium Cabbage -- Chopped 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped 1/2 Cup Water 1/3 Cup Vinegar 2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 1 Teaspoon Salt 1/8 Teaspoon Pepper Garlic Powder -- To Taste 1 Teaspoon Browning Sauce (Like Gravy Master) -- For Color Coarsely chop cabbage. Add water to a Dutch oven, add cabbage and boil until cabbage is tender (about 10-15 minutes); drain and set aside. In a large skillet cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon; set aside. Saute onion in drippings until tender. Add flour and mix well. Add water, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper and browning sauce. Cook and stir until thickened.
