* Exported from MasterCook * Stromboli Loaves Recipe By : Holiday Appetizers Serving Size : 40 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 16 oz. loaf bread dough, frozen; white or whole wheat -- thawed 2 tablespoons butter -- melted 1/3 cup cooked ham -- chopped fine 3 slices bacon, cooked; drained, crumbled 1/2 cup stuffed green olives -- chopped 1/3 cup golden raisins 1/3 cup parmesan OR romano cheese -- fine shreds 3/4 cup mozzarella OR provolone cheese -- shredded 3/4 cup fontina cheese 1 egg 1. Line a 15x10x1 inch baking pan with foil. Grease foil; set aside. 2. Divide dough in half. Roll each half of dough into a 10x8 inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Brush 1 tablespoon of the butter over each dough rectangle, leaving a 1 inch plain border. Sprinkle each rectangle evenly with ham, bacon, olives, raisins, and parmesan or romano cheese. Top with mozzarella or provolone cheese and fontina cheese. 3. Carefully fold edges of short sides over filling about 1 or 2 inches; roll up jelly-roll style, beginning with a long side. Moisten edges and ends with water and pinch to seal. Carefully place rolls, seam side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm place until nearly double (about 30 minutes). Combine egg and 1 tablespoon water; brush over loaves. 4. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack about 30 minutes before slicing.
